Hi I’m Meagan Wachtel! I’m a Cuban-American Director of Photography.

  • I am an alum of New York University’s Tisch School of the Arts with a BFA in Film and Television Production. I’m currently based in Brooklyn, New York, but my work as a cinematographer has taken me to Seattle, Paris, and Havana.

  • I have shot several award-winning narrative short films, have wrapped 4 features in the last year, and worked for clients such as Miller Lite, Ikea, Google, Dior, and Revlon. I also received an accreditation from the Cannes International Film Festival and placed at the world’s largest youth film festival, NFFTY.

  • My portfolio balances my love of classic filmmaking techniques and my modern visual sensibility. My work facilitates the visual language between filmmaking and real-life themes of womanhood, mental health, cultural differences, intimacy, and queerness. I am inspired by the work of Nan Goldin, Robby Müller, and Pedro Almodovar.

  • When I’m not on set, I love taking film photographs and animating.

  • I am open to freelance and commercial work. For further information and general inquiries, you can reach here or directly via meagantheepisces@gmail.com.
